Experience – Aerospace industry in the fields of satellite communications, in private industry in electronic banking terminals, computer mainframes, and word processing machines, started a private business with computer aided design, hardware and software systems, and programming.
Education – Prior to and while attending GA Institute of Technology Mr. Smith was an associate professor at DeVry University in Communications and Electronics. He graduated in 1981 with a degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from GA Institute of Technology.

As a division CIO (The Hartford), he introduced BPM (business process management) front end to AS400 applications, reorganized IT department reducing headcount by 35% and expenses by 30%, introduced Governance, retooled staff skill sets/capabilities, established a PMO and SOX Compliance; As a sales leader (Sears, Inacom) Jeff drove enterprise level sales to Fortune 500 companies generating over 300 million in revenue; Experienced in startups, Jeff established professional services practices, authored programs for contracts processes, project controls, project life cycle management and web-based time reporting increasing sales by 25% raising professional services utilization to 81%.

Experience – Industries served include telecommunications and media, entertainment, financial services, aerospace, health care, logistics, government (local and federal), utilities, academia, and retail. Experience also includes large systems/software installation, maintenance, capacity planning and performance measurement, hardware/software evaluation and selection, conversion and migration projects as well as data center and MIS control review.
